Kelman Heritage staff offer clients a broad range of experience and technical expertise. We also maintain a wide network of specialists and associates, allowing us to meet the archaeological and heritage management requirements of any project.

 

Darryl Kelman, MLitt  

President & Principal Archaeologist

 

Darryl combines a formal education in history with over a decade of professional experience as an archaeologist. He graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history in 1999 and completed a Masters in History, with a focus on heritage resource management, at the University of St Andrews, UK in 2000. Darryl has extensive experience in archaeology and heritage management in Atlantic Canada, having worked as a professional archaeologist in Nova Scotia for over 10 years. He has also worked in Ontario, the United Kingdom, Italy and Panama.

 

Darryl serves on the boards of the Nova Scotia Archaeology Society (NSAS) and the Archaeological Land Trust of Nova Scotia (ALTNS). He is also a member of Industrial Heritage Nova Scotia (IHNS), the Canadian Archaeological Association (CAA), the Society for Historical Archaeology (SHA) and the Council for Northeast Historical Archaeology (CNEHA).

 

 

Emily Pudden, MA, MMM, LLB  

Senior Researcher & Archaeologist

 

Emily holds post-graduate degrees in Archaeology (University College Cork, Ireland; University of St Andrews, UK), Marine Management (Dalhousie University) and Law (Dalhousie University). She has worked as an archaeologist, both on land and underwater, in Canada, the United States, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Russia and Bermuda. As a lawyer, Emily has worked with government, academic and private clients in Nova Scotia and Ontario.

 

Emily is a member in good standing of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society (NSBS) and the Law Society of Upper Canada (LSUC) and serves on the boards of the Nova Scotia Archaeology Society (NSAS) and the Archaeological Land Trust of Nova Scotia (ALTNS).
